Suffolk logistics company, Magnus Group has rewarded three of its longest-serving members of staff with an Ipswich Town matchday experience.

The growing company, which recently inked a deal to sponsor the main Ipswich Town stand, treated three team members with the best corporate hospitality at last weekend’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Joining our head of personnel and development, Emma Lightfoot, were lorry drivers Martin Salisbury and John Vincent, plus accounts assistant Patsi Brown. The three have been with Magnus Group since the mid to late 1980s, which makes for a fine advert for the way the business retains its staff.

The two HGV drivers had asked internally to make use of the business’ two season tickets for the match – and then CEO Olly Magnus surprised them by upgrading their day to a hospitality experience, including lunch, drinks and some of the best seats in the house. Patis was invited along, too, thanks to her loyalty to the company over the years.

Patsi explained: “We were thrilled to be invited. The food was delicious, and it was such a treat to enjoy the game in this way. We are all very thankful to Olly!”

Emma hosted the trio in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite, which gave the guests a fine view of the game – and of the Magnus Group West Stand.

Emma said: “The football tickets are something we can offer our staff as a treat. It’s important to Olly and I that all the staff feel included and part of our team. Now that Magnus Group sponsors the ITFC main stand, we want them to be a part of that relationship, too.”

With the well-documented shortage of lorry drivers, Magnus Group is keen to be a compassionate and inclusive employer. You can visit the company’s Work with Us page to see its latest career opportunities, whether it be for the lorry fleet, warehousing, freight forwarding or office roles.
