The UK has seen a drastic increase of residents and business owners carrying out external improvements and renovations during lockdowns. With many people adapting to working from home, Suffolk-based company Willoughby Green has seen a rising demand for its services. Homeowners and business owners are recognising the perks of having a quality outdoor space and its benefits on our wellbeing.

Since the start of 2020, Willoughby Green has worked with various outdoor commissions for a wide range of clients. The family-run company, managed by Partner and Business Manager Harry Crush, has over 25 years of experience in bespoke landscaping, design and carpentry projects. The Greyhound pub in Ipswich is just one of many projects the company has undertaken over the recent months.

Phase one of the works commenced in July 2020, with the construction of a beautiful timber pergola for the old pub garden. Phase two of renovations began in September and saw Willoughby Green create five bespoke heated dining pods along the back end of the old car park. In addition to this, new paving was laid underneath the pergola. Everything has been custom-built, including the dining tables designed by the English Workshop Company.

Willoughby Green has seen a rise in demand not only for commercial renovations, but to also accommodate a number of requests from people looking to transform their outdoor garden areas into offices, gyms and outdoor-living spaces. Bespoke, commissioned projects include designing and building garden offices and outside studios across East Anglia as well as landscaping for residential and commercial clients across the South East of England.

Mr Crush adds: “This comprehensive approach from the initial concept design through to completion of the construction phase means that we are always on hand to ensure our clients’ needs are met. We already have several projects lined up for 2021 and are excited to see what it holds for us.”

Willoughby Green is shortly due to transform an outdoor commercial space for the Magnus Group, building an overhanging decking area by their 50ft pond for employees to enjoy.
