Impact Lawyers agrees terms to acquire London law firm

Impact Lawyers, one of the UK’s fastest growing business law platform firms, has agreed terms to acquire Richmond-based practice, The Legal Partners.

Co-founded by Suffolk-based legal entrepreneur Kevin Withane, this strategic move will give Impact Lawyers an established London presence, take the company into regulated service provision, and more than double annual revenue.

From a standing start less than two years ago, Impact Lawyers has secured a series of award successes, including recognition in the FSB HSBC Growth Award for the East of England Start-up category. Headquartered in Suffolk, the firm has achieved rapid organic growth to date, with this first acquisition bolstering the business to a seven-figure turnover.

The move will increase Impact Lawyers’ in-house headcount to three, its UK-wide consultant network to 16, and broaden its corporate, commercial, employment law and HR service delivery into areas that include dispute resolution as well as representation at Employment Tribunals and in the County and High Courts.

While The Legal Partners was founded more than 20 years before Impact Lawyers, the businesses are strongly aligned culturally and operationally. “It’s time to redefine how advice is delivered to business owners and SMEs in a highly commercial, practical and human way,” explains Kevin.

Completion remains subject to SRA regulatory approval.

Acquisition of The Legal Partners marks the first step in a long-term strategy to build a wider Total Impact Group, a full-service offering that aims to provide the complete suite of professional services for owner managed businesses. To achieve this vision, Impact Lawyers is actively seeking additional acquisition opportunities over the next 12 months, specifically targeting legal, HR, training and accountancy firms.
