Heirloom seed brand She Grows Veg is celebrating its first big retail listing as it launches its vegetable seed packs on Ocado, making it simple for customers to boost their veg garden goals as part of their regular shopping.
Ten varieties of vegetable seeds from She Grows Veg’s range will be made available on the site and they will also feature on Ocado’s ‘Buy Women Built’ page, which aims to shine a light on brilliant brands created by women. She Grows Veg will also be part of Ocado Roots programme, supporting small businesses in their first steps into retail.
Co-founder Kate Cotterrill (left) said: “We are thrilled to be launching with Ocado and become part of its Roots programme which has been really supportive as we take this next step as a business. The best thing about Ocado is being able to retain our brand identity far more than in a traditional store setting.
“With it being online, our products look like they do on our own website which is really important to us as we grow the brand.”
Launched in 2023, She Grows Veg has fast-become known for its range of rare and unusual heirloom seeds that are not only outstanding in appearance, but also taste phenomenal. The heirloom seed brand will be launching the following ten seed packs initially; Beetroot Red Toad, Collard Greens Champion, Celery Blush, Courgette Striato, Lettuce Bronze Beauty, Spring Radish Fire Candle, Tomato Black Cherry, Butternut Squash Honeynut, Chicory Rose of Venice and Leek Bleu de Solaise.
“We’ve selected a range of classic veg patch varieties – all beautiful, delicious heirlooms with exceptional flavour – that we think Ocado’s foodie customers will really appreciate,” says Kate. “Every pack also includes a QR code linking to our YouTube growing guides, so customers get expert advice as well as great-tasting produce.”
She Grows Veg offers a range of over 300 open pollinated heirloom seeds that promise the most beautiful, unique and delicious veg, fruit and flowers; perfect for the ardent gardener, kitchen novice or experimental cook. The brand’s mission is to introduce growers to amazing or long lost seed varieties that can’t be found in the shops.
