A Suffolk PR agency is celebrating after being shortlisted in three categories of a prestigious industry award scheme.

Satsuma Managing Director Ellen Widdup said: “It’s a staggering achievement to be in the running for three awards just a year after we founded the business. We are immensely proud of the team, whose talent and experience ensures we consistently deliver such a phenomenal level of work.”

Satsuma has been shortlisted for Best Publication in conjunction with client Anderson, a leading construction and property development company, for its work on publication The Hard Hat.

The magazine has a readership of 4,500 per edition and has more than 10,000 downloads.

Andrew Jay, CEO of Anderson, said he was delighted that The Hard Hat was in the running for such an impressive plaudit.

He said: “Our productive working relationship with Satsuma has led to the creation of a ground-breaking publication – The Hard Hat – that celebrates our business successes and our people. This was an idea I had that became a reality thanks to their hard work.

“They have worked on every edition from its inception – improving and enhancing the product as we evolve and increasing pagination to include the growing number of incredible stories from our team on site to our staff in the office and from our contractors, our clients and our suppliers.

“It’s constantly praised by the thousands of people who read it and I am immensely proud of the magazine and all it stands for.”

In the Best Public Sector campaign category, Satsuma’s entry saw it working with East Suffolk Council on a ‘Think local’ campaign to encourage those that live, work and visit East Suffolk to shop, dine and enjoy town centres.

Kay Bonning-Schmitt, Economic Development Project Officer at East Suffolk Council, said: “Satsuma provided excellent project management, creative brand development, stunning photography and high-quality product and asset development.

“We couldn’t be happier with the campaign that Satsuma delivered and this has been highlighted through the increase in social media engagements we have had through East Suffolk Means Business throughout the campaign.

“They have been truly creative and thought ‘outside of box’ at all times.”

Finally, the Small PR Agency of the Year nod comes just one year after Satsuma was founded.

The agency provides PR and marketing, branding and design, social media management and website design and build and its clients include McDonald’s, The UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and selection of construction companies.

Based in Suffolk, the agency also has staff spread across the UK, working remotely and flexibly.

“It’s as a result of this unique set up that we are able to attract the very best talent and it is this talent that delivers such a phenomenal level of work,” said Ellen.

The team of 12 include the former News Editor of the Evening Standard, former Deputy Features Editor of the Daily Express and social media influencers with a combined Instagram following of 25k.

The 2022 CIPR PRide Awards winners will be announced in October.
