Insurance broker Gallagher has announced that Nathan Harvey has been appointed branch director of its Ipswich office to support the continuing growth of its client base in the region.
Nathan is responsible for heading up Gallagher’s 50-strong Ipswich team, as well as overseeing sales and development across the broker’s East of England offices in Hoddesdon, Chelmsford and Ipswich.
With 20 years’ insurance experience, Nathan joined Gallagher in 2012 in a business development role, before becoming regional sales director for the East region in 2015, and was appointed regional development and commercial director in 2018.
Nathan’s appointment sees former Ipswich managing director Paul Waldock take on the broader role of leading both the Chelmsford and Hoddesdon offices.
Having had a presence in the town for over 40 years, Gallagher’s Ipswich branch, based on Museum Street since the start of 2019, looks after the insurance and risk management requirements for a broad range of business sectors, with specialisms including logistics, construction and professional services.
Gallagher has a sizeable presence in the East of England, with more than 100 insurance professionals across the region forming part of its 70-strong UK retail branch network.
Commenting on his appointment, Nathan Harvey, Ipswich Branch Director, Gallagher, said: “With so many businesses currently facing uncertain times, it’s more important than ever that we’re on hand to support our client base in Ipswich with navigating a challenging risk management landscape.
“Having been part of Gallagher for eight years, and based in Ipswich for the past five, I’m immensely proud to lead our first-class team of insurance specialists, as well as focusing on growing our already impressive portfolio of clients in the region.”
David Anderson, Regional Managing Director for the East, Gallagher, added: “Nathan’s thorough understanding of the local market, as well as his commercial acumen makes him a great fit. We are delighted that he is now taking on this important leadership position for our Ipswich office, and maintaining the positive momentum both the branch and the wider East region have enjoyed in recent years.”
