Ipswich-based PR & marketing agency, Pier, has been awarded High-Growth Business of the Year at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Awards in the East of England. The thriving agency will now go through to compete with winners across the UK in the national finals in May.

Pier impressed judges with its strong growth over the past two years, winning 23 new clients and increasing revenue by 116%. Client wins, including Del Monte® and RWE’s Five Estuaries Wind Farm, have strengthened the agency’s two specialist divisions – food and beverages, and renewable energy.

Receiving the award at the ceremony at Newmarket Racecourse on Friday was CEO and founder Kate Bowden Smith and Managing Director Amy Bendall. Amy commented: “It has been a strong two years for Pier and it is very rewarding to have this success recognised outside of our industry. We are hugely passionate about food and renewables, both two booming sectors, particularly in our region. We are now laser-focused on continued growth in these sectors and there is an exciting future ahead.

She added: “Nothing happens without good people and I am incredibly proud of the whole team for their tenacity and hard work and remain in awe of the talent we are lucky enough to have within Pier.”

Pier was set up by Kate in 2008 and delivers marketing services including PR, social media, influencer and experiential. Clients include ScottishPower Renewables, Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, GENERATE, Kerry Foods, Pilgrim’s Food Masters and Greene King.
