Travelsafe, the Ipswich and Otley based taxi firm, is supporting the COVID-19 vaccine rollout by offering free transport to those in the clinically vulnerable category to get to their vaccination appointment.
Recently acquired by new owner Jake Green, the company consists of a fleet of cars, vans and accessible vehicles, including 7 vehicles specifically designed for wheelchair users. It is hoped that this free incentive offered by Travelsafe will encourage more people who are over 70 or clinically vulnerable to get the vaccine who might otherwise struggle to travel to their appointment.
MD Jake Green said: “Right now, we all need to do everything we can in the fight against Covid. This small gesture to help the elderly, infirm, disabled and clinically vulnerable access their vaccine appointment is just our way of trying to help.
“Hopefully it will take away the worry or stress some people may feel about how they would get to their appointment. Getting to and from a vaccine appointment shouldn’t be a reason not to go.”
Discounts are also available for other people who are attending their vaccination appointment, subject to proof of appointment. All of the vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after every journey, with safety the utmost importance to Jake and his team. Customers are also encouraged to pay by card where possible.
Jake continues: “For anyone who wants to book their journey to get the COVID-19 vaccine, they can call our office but also book via the TaxiCaller booking app.
“The more people who have the vaccine and get protected from this dreadful virus, the quicker we are one step closer to being out of lockdown and life resembling some form of normality”.
