Freeport East is expanding its team with two key hires to build local and national awareness of the opportunities in the areas, strengthen international relationships and drive local economic growth.
Jacinda Love joins Freeport East this month as the new communications and marketing manager. With a strong background in destination marketing, she previously promoted Essex as a business hub as marketing manager at Invest ESSEX. Her extensive experience includes working with local authorities, business support providers, inward investment organisations, and media agencies on communications and marketing strategies.
In her new role Jacinda will manage strategic communications and marketing for Freeport East, collaborating with partners, stakeholders, media, and the local community to raise awareness of the many opportunities in the freeport area.
‘A great place to invest’
Steve Beel, CEO of Freeport East, said, “We all look forward to welcoming Jacinda to the team. Marketing our region as a great place to invest, work, and live is central to our mission at Freeport East. Jacinda’s background ensures she will be a great asset to our team. Her role will help us attract more investment and communicate the fantastic local strengths of places like Ipswich, Colchester, Harwich, and more.”
Jacinda Love said, “I am delighted to start working with the team at Freeport East during this exciting time of growth and interest in the region. I am passionate about maximising opportunities for businesses and look forward to sharing information about what Freeport East has to offer locally, nationally, and internationally.”
‘Appointment strengthens team’
Additionally, Freeport East recently appointed Karthik Durgaprasad from Essex County Council as an inward investment associate. With 20 years of economic development experience, Karthik will promote Freeport East’s investment opportunities in the Indian market. His expertise in inward investment, international trade, innovation, and partnership development will help build international connections.
Steve Beel added, “Karthik’s appointment strengthens our team significantly. His role will be crucial in promoting Freeport East’s investment offer internationally, particularly in the fast-growing Indian market.”
Jacinda Love starts her new role on 3 June and can be reached on Jacinda.Love@freeporteast.co.uk.
