Halesworth Ale Day unveils local brew and charity partnership for 2026

Exciting new details have been confirmed for Halesworth Ale Day 2026, taking place on Saturday 13 June, with organisers revealing more about the specially brewed Halesworth Ale, its charity partnership and an expanded drinks market at the heart of the town-wide celebration.

Local Tindall Brewery will begin brewing the brand-new Halesworth Ale in mid-May, ready for its official launch at the June event. Created especially for Halesworth Ale Day, the ale celebrates the town’s brewing heritage while supporting important local causes.

The ale’s label will be designed by Art Box, Waveney’s special needs charity for adults, giving the project a strong community focus and showcasing local creativity. In addition, £1 from every ale sold will be donated to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), helping to support the charity’s life-saving work raising awareness of cardiac conditions in young people.

Another major addition this year is the new drinks market in Halesworth’s Market Square, where visitors will be able to purchase and sample a wide variety of ales, wines and local produce from breweries, vineyards, cider makers, gin producers and artisan food vendors from across the region.

Alongside the drink, visitors will also be able to tuck into some wholesome beer bread made by Black Dog Deli in collaboration with Tindalls Brewery. Souvenir Ale Day mugs will also be on sale from ‘Ali’ at the Old Brewhouse Pottery.

Kelly Parker, Marketing and Events Officer at Halesworth Town Council, said:

“This year’s Halesworth Ale Day is becoming a real celebration of community as well as brewing heritage. The new Halesworth Ale brings together local business, charity and creativity in a really meaningful way.

“Working with Tindall Brewery, Art Box and supporting CRY makes this much more than just a festival ale, it’s something the whole town can be proud of. The new drinks market will also create a fantastic atmosphere in the Market Place and give visitors even more reasons to spend the day in Halesworth.”

Halesworth Ale Day takes place on Saturday 13 June from 12–6pm, with a full programme of events celebrating brewing, history and hospitality across the town.

The event will include brewery talks, beer-making demonstrations, a new ale trail, guided heritage walks led by local history experts and a ‘Malt Experience’ exhibition at The Cut Arts Centre.

New for 2026 will also be  ‘Dwile Flonking’, a traditional contest not seen in the town since 1970, alongside live music, family entertainment, theatre performances, giant bubbles, stilt walkers, face painting and games.

Visitors can also enjoy scenic walks exploring the Blyth Road Navigation and discover how traditional wherry boats once transported malt along the River Blyth for beer production.

Halesworth Ale Day 2026 is funded and supported by the SZC Tourism Event Grant through East Suffolk Council and Halesworth Town Council.
