Robin’s design features on Halesworth Ale Day 2026 brew
A talented local artist from Artbox has been announced as the winner of the competition to design the label for the official Halesworth Ale Day 2026 ale.
Robin, 53, who lives in Farnham near Saxmundham with his father and brother Simon, created the winning design which will appear on bottles and promotional materials for the specially brewed Halesworth Ale, produced by Tindall Brewery for this year’s event.
Robin, who attends Artbox, Waveney’s special needs community interest company for adults, said his inspiration for the design came from two of his greatest passions: beer and history.
“I love beer and history, so I wanted to bring those ideas together in my design,” said Robin.
The achievement is particularly meaningful as Halesworth Ale Day also falls on a special date for Robin – it is his mum’s birthday.
Known for his love of classic American cars, rock ‘n’ roll music and visits to vintage car rallies, Robin describes himself as a ‘very young 53’.
The label design competition formed part of a new partnership between Halesworth Ale Day and Artbox, giving adults with learning disabilities and additional needs the opportunity to showcase their creativity to a wider audience.
The specially brewed Halesworth Ale will be launched during Halesworth Ale Day on Saturday 13 June 2026. The new ale celebrates the town’s rich brewing heritage while supporting important charitable causes. £1 from every ale sold will be donated to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), helping to fund the charity’s vital work raising awareness of cardiac conditions in young people.
Kelly Parker, Marketing and Events Officer at Halesworth Town Council, said:
“Robin’s design perfectly captures the spirit of Halesworth Ale Day and we’re delighted to showcase his artwork on this year’s official ale. Working with Artbox has been a fantastic way to celebrate local creativity and ensure the event has a strong community focus.
“The partnership with Tindall Brewery, Artbox and CRY demonstrates how Halesworth Ale Day brings people together through heritage, creativity and community spirit.”
Halesworth Ale Day takes place from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday 13 June and will feature brewery talks, beer-making demonstrations, a new ale trail, guided heritage walks, a drinks market, live entertainment and the return of the traditional game of Dwile Flonking.
Visitors will also be able to purchase and sample the official Halesworth Ale featuring Robin’s winning label design.
