Local independent, Chartered insurance broker Yutree is celebrating its continued growth with the opening of a new office in Norwich, extending its reach into Norfolk and creating new opportunities for businesses across the region.
Founded and headquartered in Newmarket, Yutree has built a strong reputation for personal, expert insurance advice and service – and its expansion to 19 Upper King Street in the heart of Norwich marks a significant milestone for the independent broker.
Leading the new Norwich office is Peter Foster, a well-respected name in the insurance industry. Peter brings decades of leadership experience and deep ties to the local market, having previously built and sold Norwich-based broker Hugh J Boswell – a firm with more than 100 years of trading history in the city.
Strategic dimension
“This is more than just a new office for Yutree. It’s a return to the market in a city we know well and care deeply about, and an opportunity to build our business there feels right,” said Peter Foster, Director of the new Norwich office.
This expansion has a personal and strategic dimension. Peter Foster is the brother of Laura Hancock and brother-in-law of Kevin Hancock, the Managing Director and CEO of Yutree, respectively. Laura and Kevin also have personal ties with Norwich, having grown up there themselves. This connection made the decision to grow Yutree into Norwich a natural fit for the family-led firm.
“We are very excited for Yutree to become part of the Norwich business community,” said Laura Hancock, Managing Director. “Norwich is very dear to several of us at Yutree, and we are looking forward to helping lots of old friends and new connections with their insurance requirements in the future. We have been bursting to share this news for months!”
Local roots
The firm has also appointed Peter Sheppard, Managing Director of NES Healthcare UK and a qualified solicitor, as Non-Executive Director. Based in Norwich, Peter will provide strategic guidance and support to Yutree during this new phase of expansion.
Yutree’s links to Norfolk go beyond business. Kevin Hancock, CEO, has a long-standing personal connection with Wymondham Rugby Club, having played there during his time at Wymondham College. As part of the company’s commitment to local engagement, Yutree has reconnected with the club to support its activities and use it as a space for future client networking.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be re-connecting with my old club in Wymondham and am looking forward to catching up with new and existing clients at future events there,” said Kevin Hancock.
Back in Newmarket, Yutree remains proud of its local roots. The firm continues to grow its team and invest in the local economy, offering career opportunities and professional insurance services for businesses and individuals across Suffolk and beyond.
Specialising in both commercial and personal insurance, Yutree delivers a Chartered, relationship-led approach backed by trusted market access and an experienced team of underwriters and brokers. The firm welcomes new enquiries from businesses in Norwich and across East Anglia.
