Matthew Douglas celebrates 13th consecutive Citywire Top 100 recognition
Suffolk financial advice firm Matthew Douglas is celebrating national recognition after securing a coveted place in Citywire New Model Adviser’s Top 100 for 2026, marking its 13th consecutive year on the list.
The Hadleigh-based firm expects its assets under advice to reach £360 million in 2026, reflecting its growth since being founded in Suffolk in 2003 as a one-person operation. The family-run business now supports around 1,000 families, providing financial planning and investment advice.
A key part of the firm’s approach is making financial advice accessible to younger generations. Its Thrive by 35 programme offers free financial advice to under-35s aiming to become homeowners, helping them plan for one of life’s biggest financial commitments.
Matthew Douglas’s inclusion in the 2026 Top 100 continues a run of consecutive appearances in Citywire’s annual list dating back to 2014. The firm believes it is the only Suffolk financial advice firm to have achieved this distinction. Citywire has refreshed its selection methodology for 2026, changing the weighting of points and the metrics used to assess entries.
Matthew Pescott Frost, chief executive of Matthew Douglas (pictured), said: “To be recognised among the UK’s leading financial planning firms for 13 consecutive years is something we’re incredibly proud of. It’s a testament to the dedication of our whole team, from our advisers to everyone working behind the scenes to support our clients.
“We’ve come a long way since the business was founded in 2003 but we’re not standing still. We’ll continue investing in our people and developing our services to ensure we provide high-quality advice and support to our clients, both now and in the years ahead.”
Matthew Douglas manages client wealth through in-house and bespoke investment portfolios with Evelyn Partners. The firm has also introduced a new investment management structure, adopted AI technology to support client communications and expanded its client feedback sessions.
Beyond its work with clients, Matthew Douglas maintains strong links with the local community. The firm works with Ipswich School and Colchester Grammar School, where some of its advisers previously studied, to highlight career opportunities in financial services outside London.
Its Fund Me a Singer initiative arranges performances in care homes, creating opportunities for families to discuss care funding. The firm also supports local charitable causes, including St Helena Hospice and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
