An Ipswich-based home fragrance business has moved into a new 10,000sq ft warehouse – more than six times the size of its previous home.

Cosy Aromas, a business making a range of scented soy wax products, has experienced tremendous growth in 2020 and this year, which included opening its first shop in Felixstowe.

Their new premises in Boss Hall Road, Ipswich, includes a second retail unit as well as space for a further eight employees.

Paul Mayne, Cosy Aromas co-owner, said: “It’s been such a long time in the making, but we are so happy to finally have the keys to our new warehouse which is on two floors.

“There’s a huge amount of work to do to Cosify it, but it also has a shop front, which means we’ll be opening a second retail shop this time in Ipswich in the near future.

“We have such an exciting plan for 2021 and this warehouse will give us the space to grow our product range, hire more people and continue to grow.”

The company, which makes candles, wax melts and wax warmers, has manufactured products throughout the pandemic and sales were given a push as people stuck at home during lockdowns looked for ways to make their environment a more enjoyable space.

Cosy Aromas’ extensive range of products is vegan-friendly. Initially a monthly subscription box service, the company now operates an online store and in shops across the country.

Tamar, Paul’s wife and co-owner, said: “It’s been a hugely testing time for businesses and we have been incredibly lucky to have flourished in the way we have.

“Opening our first shop was a real highlight for me – there is something quite magical about seeing people spend time just sniffing, touching and enjoying our products all in one place.”

The boutique store at Beach Street in Felixstowe attracted more than 125 customers on its opening weekend, exceeding sales targets by more than 200%. It will be reopening following the third lockdown next week.

The store is open from 10am-5pm Thursday through to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays. It has a wide range of Cosy Aromas’ 28g sample pot scents, full-sized 110g pots which are also available online at www.cosyaromas.com
