Magnus Group has been crowned South East Regional Member of the Year, in this year’s Pall-Ex annual awards.
The Suffolk-based transport business was announced as the winner at a ceremony run by the UK wide freight membership network, in Nottingham over the weekend.
Selected for the company’s impressive year of contract success and customer satisfaction, Magnus Group has only recently moved under the leadership of Olly Magnus, whose late father Paul first opened the firm more than 40 years ago.
Olly, 46, proudly returned to Suffolk with the Pall-Ex trophy this week, to celebrate the success with his team of 120 staff at the Great Blakenham headquarters.
“I’m enormously proud to think that the business has secured this award – in particular, because it is voted for by peers in the sector,” said Olly.
“Every member of the team has worked tirelessly over recent months to ensure our customer service and our business delivery is first class, and that we are a force to be reckoned with in the decade ahead.”
Olly commended his staff for helping him to ‘settle in’ as the new head of Magnus, and for being so supportive of the firm’s strategy for 2020.
“A business like Magnus is not about the individual or the name above the door,” he said. “It’s very much about the teamwork, the commitment, and the absolute desire to pull together and achieve great outcomes for all the customers we serve.
“It’s not easy to step into the footsteps of your own father and continue the legacy of his career in logistics, but staff have really supported me through that and shown that they are so passionate about what the company does.
“They really are a driving force and are going to enable the business to fulfil on its ambitions for the decade ahead.”

Formed in the 1970’s, Magnus Group has been providing warehousing, transportation and haulage for companies all over the UK and Europe.
It has a fleet of over 50 articulated vehicles and employs 120 staff.
